Nil at the International Arctic Winter School in Harbin

POMOR student Nil Rodes participated in the International Arctic Winter School in Harbin, NE China, held on January 5-12, 2020 at the Harbin Institute of Technology and co-organized by the UArctic:

“We attended interesting lectures of professors from all over the world, and about different topics. Having the opportunity to meet other MSc and Ph.D. students from different places and learn about their research has helped me to get a broader vision of the topics of interest and focus of research in other countries. Moreover, in the last two days of the School, we took part in the Harbin Forum on Polar Environment and Ecosystem, where Chinese and international researchers gave brief talks about their research.

Unexpectedly, at the end of the meeting, the group of students I was part of, was awarded with the Outstanding Group Presentation IAS-HIT- Winter 2020, for the talk we gave about the microplastics in the Arctic.

All in all, coming to China has been an enriching experience, both academically and personally. I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to come to Harbin and participate in the IAS-HIT-Winter2020”.
