POMOR at the Scientific Workshop (CATS / QUARCCS) Towards a New Arctic Climate System

POMOR was presented during the joint workshop of the Russian-German research projects “The Changing Arctic Transpolar System” (CATS) and “Quantifying Rapid Climate Change in the Arctic: regional feedbacks and large-scale impacts” (QUARCCS)   “Towards a New Arctic Climate System” held on December 2-6, 2019 at the Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute in Saint Petersburg.

Dr. Nadezhda Kakhro gave a keynote presentation about the interaction of POMOR VIII (2017-2019) and these two Russian-German research projects.

The project CATS supported POMOR with student scholarships for the semester at the German partner universities and short research stays in Germany for the master thesis. Four students participated in the expedition TRANSDRIFT XXIV, one student completed his field practice at GEOMAR, Kiel University and AWI Bremerhaven.  Two POMOR students successfully defended their master theses in the framework of CATS. QUARCCS participated in POMOR with two lecturers and offered a field practice place at the AWI in Potsdam.
