POMOR presents the first talk in the frame of KÖPPEN* International Seminar Series** at the Saint Petersburg State University.

The first talk

“Iron Fertilization in the Southern Ocean: Scientific Experiment or Climate engineering?“

will be given by Professor Dr. Ulrich Bathmann , Director of the Leibniz Institute for Baltic Sea Research Warnemuende

on Friday, November 1, 2013 at 16:00 at the Faculty of Geography and Geoecology.

Professor Bathmann coordinates Module 3 Polar and Marine Ecosystem: Structure, Functioning and Vulnerability at the POMOR and will teach the courses on Biodiversity in marine and polar ecosystems and Biological oceanography of pelagic ecosystems, principles, examples, future scenarios and modeling. ** The “KÖPPEN International Seminar Series” will engage foreign scholars visiting the Saint Petersburg State University (SPbSU)  in the wider fields of geosciences and biology and offer a forum of scientific exchange between senior students and staff of SPbSU and the visiting scholars.
